How to Calculate SGPA
SGPA is calculated using the formula: SGPA = Σ(Credit × Grade Point) / Σ(Credits). Each subject's credit hours are multiplied by the grade point earned, and the sum is divided by the total credits.
| Grade | Grade Point | Description |
|---|---|---|
| O | 10 | O (Outstanding) |
| A+ | 9 | A+ (Excellent) |
| A | 8 | A (Very Good) |
| B+ | 7 | B+ (Good) |
| B | 6 | B (Above Average) |
| C | 5 | C (Average) |
| P | 4 | P (Pass) |
| F | 0 | F (Fail) |
SGPA stands for Semester Grade Point Average. It is the weighted average of grade points earned in a single semester, calculated using the formula: SGPA = Σ(Credit × Grade Point) / Σ(Credits).
This calculator uses the Indian 10-point grading system: O=10, A+=9, A=8, B+=7, B=6, C=5, P=4, F=0. This is the standard grading scale used by most Indian universities.
