Target CGPA Calculator

Enter your completed semester SGPAs and find out the average SGPA you need in your remaining semesters to reach your target CGPA. Works with the Indian 10-point grading system.

How the Target CGPA Calculator Works

The Target CGPA Calculator uses a simple mathematical formula to determine the average SGPA you need in your remaining semesters:

Required Average SGPA = ((Target CGPA × Total Credits) - (Current CGPA × Completed Credits)) / Remaining Credits

If you don't enter credits, the calculator assumes equal weight for each semester and uses the simplified formula.

Example Calculation

Suppose you have completed 4 semesters with SGPAs of 8.2, 8.5, 8.8, and 8.6. You have 4 semesters remaining and your target CGPA is 9.0.

  • Current CGPA = (8.2 + 8.5 + 8.8 + 8.6) / 4 = 8.525
  • Required Average = (9.0 × 8 - 8.525 × 4) / 4 = 9.475
  • This target is possible but very difficult
